Nottinghamshire Police appealing for witnesses to assault on Wolsey Road, Newark

An assault has left a man with potentially life-altering injuries, as police appeal for witnesses.

One man was taken to hospital as a result of the assault, which took place on Wolsey Road, Newark, on Friday (May 17).

Nottinghamshire Police is appealing for anyone who witnesses the incident to come forward, with an investigation into the incident underway.

Detective Sergeant Andrea Brown, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was assaulted in Newark on Friday night (May 17).

“The assault took place in Wolsey Road, at approximately 9.05pm, and resulted in a man being taken to hospital with leg fractures as well as other injuries.

“His injuries are currently believed to be potentially life-altering.

“An investigation has been launched to track down whoever was responsible, while a scene remains in place at Wolsey Road.

“Officers will also be providing a visible presence in the area to provide some reassurance to the public.

“We would urge anyone who saw what happened to contact us straight away.
