Travis Kelce hasn’t changed since Taylor Swift – Except one ‘eye-opening’ difference

Travis Kelce recently opened up about staying true to who he is, unchanged by his relationship with Taylor Swift.

Over the years, Taylor Swift‘s love life has received intense attention from both her fandom and the media. Having dated the likes of Joe Alwyn, Jake Gyllenhaal, Matty Healy, Harry Styles, and more, Swifties have seen her heart break and mend on more than one occasion. However, after her romance with Travis Kelce went public in September 2023, legions of fans have been compelled to say she’s found the one. Despite dating the most famous musician on the planet, he hasn’t let it get to his head…

Travis Kelce still ‘the same person’ he was before Taylor Swift

On Saturday, May 18th 2024, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs hosted a party for his second annual Kelce Jam concert, which saw the likes of Diplo and Lil Wayne take the stage.

In the year since the first, Travis began dating Taylor and also earned immense victory as part of his team at the Super Bowl. Yet, he was interviewed by E! News and opened up about staying true to himself

“I’ve kind of been the same person my entire career,” he argued, keeping his ego in check. “Just always trying to live and learn and get better as a person. I’m just extremely grateful that we’ve had the showing that we’ve gotten this year.”

However, he was sure to point out an undeniable achievement: “I’ve won two Super Bowls.” Bragging rights are earned there.

As you may have noticed, on the other hand, part of Travis staying the same is staying true to his ability to adapt. To “live and learn” as he put it. There has been no shortage of Swifties championing him as a great guy and a perfect partner for her. Hearing how humble he is in the wake of the past year, those numbers aren’t going to decrease.

Travis Kelce’s music taste has changed though

Speaking with ET earlier this year, Travis admitted that getting to know Taylor has been enlightening when it comes to music, and honestly, how could it not be?

“It’s definitely been fun to experience her taste in music, for sure,” he revealed. “She’s so amazing at what she does. And to find that creativity to see where she likes to pull things from and just, really, how she listens to music is very eye-opening for me. It’s been fun to hear her take on it.”

The 34-year-old has been on the record multiple times speaking about how much of a fan he is of Tay’s work.

While discussing Tay with Access Hollywood during the latest Kelce Jam, he was asked about his favorite era of her work. “I’m a big 1989 era, but I’m not gonna lie, I might be a little biased towards The Tortured Poets Department just a little bit.”

It’s widely believed that such songs on the latest album as The Alchemy and So High School were written about him. Believed? Perhaps all but confirmed would be a better way to phrase it at this point. They’re the cutest.
