Prince Harry and Meghan Markle fans discover royal wedding car detail

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met and began dating in 2016 before they became husband and wife at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. It was a day of many highlights, but many are only just learning of a hidden detail.

Later in the day, Harry and Meghan left Windsor Castle in a blue Concept Zero E-type Jaguar headed for their reception at Frogmore House. Driven by Harry, the vehicle had the numberplate: E190518

With the E standing for “Established”, the six numbers in sequence hold major significance, 19/05/18 was the day’s date, the date of their marriage.

Many spectators simply glanced over the license plate, not taking it as a custom job or a plate with any hidden depth. However, it proved to be a meticulous detail.

“I am so embarrassed,” somebody began tweeting in reaction. “I was watching the royal wedding for the 200th time and it’s only now that I noticed the license plate.”

They weren’t alone, obviously. “Wow!” another replied. “Hadn’t noticed. Thanks.”

Although some were attentive enough to catch it in 2018, it obviously passed lots of others. “Good job,” one of the recently enlightened reacted to the post drawing detail to the car.

The royal wedding was all about the details

It’s a great little discovery, but the license plate is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to royal wedding Easter eggs.

Another that members of the public noticed was the meaning behind Meghan’s wedding veil. It was embroidered with a variety of flowers, each of them representing the Commonwealth countries due to the flowers’ associations with the respective nations.

For example, the Poppy was embroidered to represent Meghan’s native California, which the pair relocated to in June 2020, in the hopes of spending time with their new family in private.

If you missed rewatching the wedding for the sixth anniversary, there’s always the opportunity for more discovery come the seventh.
