Barcelona manager Xavi is set to meet with club president Joan Laporta to discuss the growing uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, a report has revealed.

In what has been an intense season for Barca, head coach Xavi finds himself back under pressure after comments about the club's inability to compete with Real Madrid allegedly frustrated president Joan Laporta, with reports even suggesting Xavi was going to be sacked as a result of the fall-out.

Sportoutline the current situation at Barca, saying that Xavi voiced his wishes to speak with club president Laporta, after hearing that the club may want to relieve him of his duties.

Reports originally stated that talks were scheduled to take place after Barca's 3-0 win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, but were later postponed. The pair did meet but Laporta is believed to have been feeling unwell and left after just a matter of minutes.

As a result, those talks are now expected to be held at the end of the season, with Barcelona sealing second place in La Liga after their victory at the weekend.

Barca's season is not yet over, with their final game of the La Liga campaign coming against Sevilla on Sunday.

The boss was asked to share his feelings on the situation after Sunday's game, to which he stressed his confidence that he will still be in charge beyond the current season: "The message is the same. If I have any news to give, I would be happy to give it to you.

"The situation is the same. I imagine that the president and I will see each other tomorrow or the day after tomorrow or the next. The project, the ambition, the hope, mine has not changed."
