Ukrainian forces have stabilized the front line in the northern part of the Kharkiv region. Russian troops are attempting to advance on the Liptsi and Slobozhanske directions, but their attempts have been halted, according to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

"The front line in the north has stabilized. There has been no enemy advancement in the Liptsi direction, as well as in the Slobozhanske direction," Syniehubov stated.

According to him, Ukrainian troops are currently continuing combat operations for the town of Vovchansk, where the front line runs along the Vovcha River.

"The occupiers are attempting to advance there, but they are not succeeding. On the contrary, our soldiers are repelling them house by house, street by street in this settlement," added the head of the Regional Military Administration.

He emphasized that the Russian attempt to quickly capture the north has failed due to the effective actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russian advance on Kharkiv region

In May, Russian forces initiated offensive actions in the Kharkiv region. The occupiers concentrated their efforts on capturing the town of Vovchansk and advancing towards Kharkiv.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian army is actively engaging in combat to displace Ukrainian forces near the populated areas of Vovchansk, Stanytsia, and Lyptsi.

As reported today by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Ukrainian forces control approximately 60% of Vovchansk. However, the assaults in the city are ongoing.
