'Amazing': Jobe Bellingham explains the 'most exciting thing' that is about to happen at Sunderland

Jobe Bellingham has shared his excitement about Sunderland’s upcoming kit release.

It’s been a while since Sunderland fans have all shared the same love for their kits, with both Nike and adidas struggling to impress over the last 12 years.

The Black Cats will never forget the atrocity that was the 2017-18 shirt, which looked extremely cheap and tacky, and actually seemed perfect for how disastrous that particular season was.

Sunderland supporters are now eagerly awaiting their upcoming kit release though, with the club having announced an initial five-year deal that will see Hummel return to Wearside.

Some of the club’s greatest ever kits were produced by Hummel, and they have since released a limited edition range of their 1992 FA Cup Final walk-out jacket and the 1993-94 third shirt.

With those quickly selling out, leaked photos of the 2024/25 kit were shared around social media – getting supporters very excited.

Jobe Bellingham really loves Sunderland’s ‘amazing’ kits

It looks like the fans aren’t the only ones buzzing to buy the new threads, with Jobe Bellingham admitting he has already seen the ‘amazing’ kits.

Speaking on the club’s YouTube channel, the midfielder said: “Not really, not really thought about anything into next season yet.

“Obviously I’ve seen the kits, which is probably the most exciting thing at the moment, because they’re obviously amazing! But no, I’ve not got any goals. That will be in the summer when we come back for pre-season, and I think that’s the best way to do it.”

Can we win promotion with Hummel?

Sunderland’s kits have gradually improved since some of the horrors that were produced following relegation from the Premier League.

It almost feels like it has been in line with the gradual improvement on and off the pitch, though the same can’t really be said for this season’s.

With the Black Cats set to bring in a new manager, hopefully have a shake-up of the squad and also revert to Hummel, it feels like a new era is blooming at the Stadium of Light.

Whether there will be a positive start to that new era, fans will have to wait to find out. But considering how disastrously the year has gone so far, it does feel like things will get better.
