Report: Tottenham hierarchy now divided over whether to sell one player if they receive bid this summer

There is a divide within Tottenham Hotspur over whether they should allow one player to leave the club this summer, amid speculation they could receive a big-money bid during the transfer window.

It is going to be fascinating to see what Spurs do over the summer after what had been a promising first season for Ange Postecoglou in North London.

Obviously, with Postecoglou wanting his side to play such a high-risk brand of football, fans will be very keen to see significant progress at the start of next season – so it is imperative that they make the right signings in the summer.

But of course, Tottenham will also be looking to move players on, with Richarlison one of those with a question mark over his future with the club.

Tottenham divided over selling Richarlison this summer

Richarlison has had a much better season this year, scoring 11 times in the Premier League, having often stepped into the striker role in the wake of Harry Kane’s departure.

There have been reports Tottenham could sell Richarlison if they receive a big offer. But, as it turns out, perhaps there are further discussions set to be had before a decision is made on the 27-year-old’s future.

According to a report from ESPN, there is a split inside Spurs over whether they should sell Richarlison this summer amid links with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Spurs already planning to hold talks over move for 26-goal striker

Tottenham do appear to have their eye on strengthening their striker options in the summer.

Spurs are looking to hold talks with Feyenoord over a potential move for Santiago Gimenez, following his campaign in which he has scored 26 goals, including 23 in the Eredivisie.

Tottenham know better than most how signing a prolific striker in the Netherlands can backfire, but there would be no Harry Kane for anyone to compete with this summer. So that may help the Mexican thrive if he does join.

But obviously, Gimenez is not going to come cheap, and it is hard to see Tottenham receiving a raft of significant offers for players they would happily sell this summer.

Therefore, that may perhaps influence their decision should Spurs indeed receive a big bid for Richarlison.
