'Jubilant' Giuliani was mocking prosecutors seconds before they found him at party: report

Rudy Giuliani was "jubilant" about avoiding the service of an indictment out of Arizona right up until the moment the document was placed in his hands, according to a new report.

The former New York City mayor was celebrating his 80th birthday last Friday in the state where he has been charged in a sprawling election subversion case — and was brainstorming with friends about ways to mock Arizona's attorney general on social media just before the indictment was finally served, reported Rolling Stone.

“Our agents traveled to Florida [on Friday]. We knew he was there because of his nightly live video streams at his residence,” said Richie Taylor, communications director for the Arizona attorney general office. “The agents took the opportunity to serve him when he was out at a friend’s nearby house as he left his birthday party … He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday, May 21, unless he asks the court for a delay.”

Giuliani and other Donald Trump allies have been charged in Arizona, Georgia and Michigan with their efforts to overturn the 2020 election results on behalf of the former president, who has been charged himself in Georgia and Washington, D.C.

“If Arizona authorities can’t find me by tomorrow morning: 1. They must dismiss the indictment; 2. They must concede they can’t count votes,” Giuliani posted Friday night from his birthday bash, although he deleted that X post after he was served.

Arizona authorities had been trying to track down Giuliani, who has also been charged in the Georgia case, but he had been ducking them since a grand jury handed up the indictment last month.

“It was so goddamn irritating,” said an Arizona government source. “We knew he’d get served eventually, but it seemed like he was playing these games just because he felt like it.”
