Man Utd legend Cristiano Ronaldo sends three-word message after watching Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk super-fight

Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has shared his reaction online after watching Oleksandr Usyk beat Tyson Fury to the undisputed heavyweight championship crown in Saudi Arabia.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing at Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr since 2023 after his second spell with Manchester United came to an end in 2022.

The 39-year-old Portuguese forward, who had a falling out with United boss Erik ten Hag, has scored 56 times in 61 appearances for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

Off the field from Al Nassr, Ronaldo has popped up at different extravaganza sporting events in Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo was ringside for the Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou fight last October, but the United legend missed the Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou clash in March.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner once again appeared at a Saudi Arabia-hosted event on Saturday, with Fury taking on Oleksandr Usyk in a mega-fight.

Ronaldo’s message after Fury vs Usyk

Oleksandr Usyk became the undisputed champion after he sealed a split-decision result over former WBC champion Tyson Fury.

The 37-year-old Ukrainian produced a superb performance against Fury, with Usyk knocking down the Brit in the ninth round in a thrilling 12-round contest.

Fury, who is a Manchester United fan, lost the WBC title to Usyk at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh and suffered the first professional defeat in his illustrious career.

Usyk, who extended his unbeaten record to 22-0, became the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era of boxing.

Saturday night’s event also saw the crowning of the first undisputed heavyweight champion since boxing legend Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield in 1999.

Cristiano Ronaldo watched on at the Kingdom Arena and sat alongside former two-time unified champ Anthony Joshua and Saudi adviser Turki Al-Sheikh.

The Portugal international took to X, formerly known as Twitter, after the event and shared his excitement at watching Usyk vs Fury in Saudi Arabia.

“Only in Riyadh!” Ronaldo tweeted.

Man Utd fan Fury unhappy with Usyk result

Fury was leading 114-113 on one scorecard at the end of the fight, with the other two scorecards – declaring 115-112 and 114-113 results – in favour of Usyk.

The ‘Gypsy King,’ who has been spotted at Old Trafford in the past watching United in action, was convinced that he should have come out on top over Usyk.

“I believe he won a few of the rounds, but I won the majority,” he said after the fight, as per BBC Sport.

“His country is at war, so people are siding with the country at war. Make no mistake, I won that fight in my opinion.”

Fury added: “It was one of the daftest decisions in boxing. I’ll be back.”
