Ole Miss baseball has at least one game left in the 2024 season.

Of course the Rebels drew in-state rival Mississippi State.

Ole Miss, the 12-seed in Hoover this week, and the five-seed Bulldogs open SEC Tournament action Tuesday at 8 p.m. CT. The Rebels (27-28, 11-19 SEC) are playing for little more than pride after going winless in four must-win opportunities last week.

“Everyone knows what’s at stake (in the SEC Tournament),” Bianco said. “You gotta win.”

Andrew Fischer on Monday became the first Ole Miss DH/UTL player named All-SEC in nearly 20 years. … Fischer is a transfer from Duke and in his first season at Ole Miss. He’s one of just four Rebels in school history to hit 20 or more home runs in a single season. … Rebel freshman reliever Wes Mendes has allowed just one earned run over his last four appearances. He’s struck out 13 over those 9.1 innings.

Ole Miss has won four SEC series.

The Rebels, prior to the LSU sweep, had secured back-to-back SEC series wins in a season for the first time since 2022. … Luke Hill is hitting .370 (27-73) over his last 19 games. Hill is a transfer infielder from Arizona State. The stretch has included 14 runs scored, 12 RBI and nine walks. … FAU transfer slugger Jackson Ross sits atop the SEC in walks. His 55 are good for seventh nationally and are the most for a Rebel in five years. … Ole Miss has the No. 2 in strength of schedule in all of college baseball.
