Michael J. Fox's wife shares rare family insight with lookalike daughters as they celebrate family achievement

Michael J. Fox's wife Tracy Pollan shared an insight into her relationship with two of her daughters after posting an image of their recent successes on Instagram.

Fox and Pollen share their three daughters Aquinnah Kathleen Fox, Schuyler Frances Fox, and Esmé Annabelle Fox along with their son Sam Michael Fox, but keep a lot of their family life out of the spotlight.

Schuyler, 29 and Esmé, 22, recently showed they are just as inspirational as their father after supporting their parents' charitable foundation - the Michael J. Fox Foundation - which raises funds to spread awareness about and fund research for Parkinson's disease.

His two daughters recently ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon, with Pollan being at the finish line cheering on her daughters and capturing the proud moment for their social media followers to see.

Pollan could be seen holding a sign which read "You got this Esme! Sky!" and captioned the post: "Could not be more proud of these two! You did it!" with Fox then sharing the snap and adding: "Amazing women. I love you three. So proud."

Adoring fans flooded the comment section with support, with one user commenting: "You rock, beautiful ladies!"

"You've got some good women in your family, @realmikejfox," another added before a third said: "You have such amazing and beautiful daughters!" (sic)

Other comments from fans included how proud they felt for them, and other revealing they had inspired them to get themselves moving.

Despite living most of their life out of the spotlight, the four children will occasionally join their parents on the red carpet for major events.

Fox and Pollan's latest outing was the TIME 100 Gala in New York last month, celebrating the Back to the Future star being honoured in this year's issue.

The Hollywood star was first diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1991 at the age of 29 before sharing the news with the world in 1998.

He previously spoke to Good Housekeeping about his battle with Parkinson's but added how his family has always been his biggest champions, stepping up to the plate when it comes to advocating for the disease.

"We'll go up to the country. And it's not unusual to make popcorn and then for all six of us to climb into bed and watch TV — just bodies everywhere. We are a really affectionate family, and we laugh a lot."

He added: "And you know, with Parkinson's, my kids just make the transition. If I am reaching for something, they will just do it and carry on.

"Again, people say to me, 'How do you cope?' And I think, 'Cope?!' It's really hard to even think that way. Sometimes I'll stop and think, 'Am I selling short the experience my family is having?' But then I'll look back at it and say, 'no — they're having fun'."

In another interview with Reader's Digest, he shared his parenting advice and noted: "Always be available to your kids. Because if you say, 'Give me five minutes, give me 10 minutes,' it'll be 15, it'll be 20.

"And then when you get there, the shine will have worn off whatever it is they wanted to share with you."
