'I think': Journalist says £51m Man City player will actually sign for Barcelona in 2025

Journalist Dean Jones believes a certain Manchester City player will join Barcelona in 2025.

Considering the gulf in class between Manchester City and Barcelona, that is difficult to imagine.

But then, despite their struggles in recent seasons, the Spanish giants remain one of the biggest and most prestigious clubs in the world.

Journalist: Man City player will sign for Barcelona next year

On the Ranks FC podcast, Dean Jones tipped Erling Haaland to leave Manchester City to join Barcelona in the 2025/2025 season.

Jones said: “I think Erling Haaland will probably leave the season after next and go to Barcelona. I think Bernardo Silva might even go this year.”

Pedri named Erling Haaland as the ideal successor to Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski.

In March, Haaland revealed that he was very happy at the Etihad Stadium and he was not planning to leave the club anytime soon.

While Manchester City are on course to add the FA Cup trophy to their Premier League title triumph this season, Barcelona will not win any silverware this campaign.

Senseless for Erling Haaland to leave Man City to join Barcelona

In our view, it would be a bizarre decision for Erling Haaland to join Barcelona anytime soon.

The £51 million man has every reason to be at City — working under Pep Guardiola, playing for one of the best club teams of all time and testing himself against some of the best players in the world.

With Real Madrid looking increasingly likely to sign Kylian Mbappe, the gap between them and Barcelona is only going to increase.

Los Blancos are building the best young team in world football, with Endrick also set to join them in the summer.

This season alone, Barcelona are 12 points behind Real Madrid in second place.

Manchester City, on the other hand, has a stranglehold on the Premier League, despite competing with teams of Arsenal and Liverpool’s ilk.

Haaland has every reason to opt for staying at City instead of leaving to join Barcelona and that too next year.
