Fabrizio Romano says one player could leave Man City in the summer

As per Fabrizio Romano, in case a “good proposal” presents itself, “it’s a possibility” that Ederson could leave Manchester City this summer.

The £35 million man is believed to be “considering possibilities” at the end of the season and the decision will be down to the player.

Romano also states that several Saudi Pro League clubs are interested in signing Ederson.

Last Thursday, it was reported that the reason why contract talks between Stefan Ortega and Manchester City have stalled is because the German believes he is ready to usurp Ederson.

Ortega is believed to be aware of how important the Brazilian goalkeeper is to City’s style of play.

Whether the 31-year-old’s confidence in himself becoming the Sky Blues’ number one is linked to the former Benfica goalkeeper’s future is unknown.

Man City will find it impossible to replace Ederson if he leaves

In our view, if Ederson does eventually decide to leave the club, Manchester City will find it extremely tough to replace him.

Apart from Manuel Neuer and Mike Maignan, there are not many goalkeepers in the world who are comparable to him in possession.

In terms of shotstopping, Stefan Ortega has a case to even be superior to Ederson, as exemplified by his recent heroics in a Manchester City shirt.

But the six-time Premier League winner is far too fundamental to how Pep Guardiola’s side play — a trait that has made him an untouchable figure in this team.

Manchester City would perhaps be hopeful that Ederson decides to stay and continue his legendary spell at the club.
