Will Rockstar increase GTA 6 price? Here’s what we know

More details about Grand Theft Auto 6 are emerging as the release window draws closer. This time, Take-Two has hinted at a possible price increase for GTA 6.

When GTA 6 was announced, fans had anticipated a price boost from the previous $70 that Rockstar charged for its previous AAA title. However, their apprehensions were justified when the developer hiked the GTA+ subscription from $6/month to $8/month across PlayStation and Xbox platforms. This has led many to believe that GTA 6 may surpass all Rockstar titles in terms of pricing.

A circulating rumor suggests that GTA 6 may cost as much as $150, and now Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has finally addressed the rumored price hike.

GTA 6 price: How much will it cost?

The exact pricing of GTA 6 is currently unknown, but the developer may increase the cost.

According to GameSpot, Take-Two’s CEO said that the company always aims to “over-deliver” regardless of the pricing. So, no matter what the game costs, players will always get more value than the price they pay. Now, this wasn’t too comforting for the fans, as the statement doesn’t necessarily shut down price hike rumors. If anything, it seems like GTA 6 will have more content to justify the increased price.

“There’s more content constantly being made available, and we really aim to deliver great value at any given time. We’re so focused on delivering more value than what we charge. And that’s sort of the rubric. And any time we establish a price, we want to make sure that it’s good news for the consumer.” Zelnick said.

Rockstar earlier released NBA 2K21 as their first game to be priced at $70 USD, which was quite a shock. But, according to the developer, the fanbase was ready for the new cost. This only suggests that GTA 6 may follow the same route. In any case, players should start saving up since the new GTA 6 release window has been confirmed by Take-Two.
