Pierce Brosnan, 71, Shows Off Transformation with Thinning Gray Hair in Latest Snap, Igniting Reactions

Pierce Brosnan, known for his iconic silver mane and rugged beard, has stunned fans with a dramatic new look for his latest role. The actor almost looked unrecognizable with his thinning grey hair and bare face.

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan is usually known for rocking his voluminous silver hair and full beard, but as he prepares for one of his upcoming films, fans got to see a different side of the actor.

Brosnan is currently in the process of shooting the biopic “Giant,” which follows the inspiring rags-to-riches story of boxer Prince Naseem, played by Amir El-Masry, while Brosnan takes on the role of his famous trainer, Brendan Ingle.

The “Die Another Day” star shared a picture of himself transformed into Ingle on Instagram, and fans almost did not recognize him. Brosnan had much thinner hair, with all his beard shaved off, and wore a pair of round glasses.

The comment section was filled with fans who were shocked at the transformation and some who were excited to see the biopic. “Almost did not recognize you without all your pretty hair,” remarked an Instagram user. Some netizens did not recognize that Brosnan was in character. “He’s gone old old,” added a commenter.

The actor's fans were intrigued to see Brosnan’s portrayal of the famous boxing trainer. “It's an interesting movie you are playing in, and I am curious to watch soon,” wrote an internet user.

Another shared the same excitement, saying, “You rock in everything you do, Pierce,” while one other person only had one word to describe Brosnan’s talents, “class.”

The “Mamma Mia!” actor was also recently spotted on the set of the film, which was filmed in Leeds. Brosnan was in full character, rocking a blue tracksuit with a matching Adidas sweater. He tapped into the trainer’s personal style by adding a black hat to the outfit and clear-framed sunglasses.

While on set, the actor was seen meeting up with Ingle’s family and brought along his sons Dominic and John Ingle, as well as his grandson Luca, to watch how the film was being made.

The family also reportedly got to read the script and give a few insights into how Ingle’s character was portrayed. The trainer died in 2018 at 77 but left behind a record-breaking career, both as a boxer and a trainer.

As a boxer, Ingle was in 34 competitions with a record of 19-14, then went on to make a name for himself as a trainer and manager. He became known for his footwork drills in the Sheffield gym.

The sports champion then mentored Naseem from when he was seven, and together they broke champions' records. Ingle was then awarded an MBE for his dedication to working with young people and their contribution to British boxing.

Lastly, the trainer was given an honorary doctorate from Sheffield Hallam University, where he had also lectured. The highly anticipated film will be produced by Sylvester Stallone and directed by Rowan Athale

While this role might need Pierce Brosnan to maintain his clean shave for a while, his wife, Keely Shaye Smith, might be enjoying the no-beard look. In a 2018 interview with GQ, the actor had grown out his facial hair to be even longer for his role in “The Son.”

However, since his beard for the TV show was long enough to be put into a mini braid, the actor could not wait to shave it off. He was asked how his wife felt about his Texas cowboy look and he responded, “She puts up with it and she tolerates it, but she wants her Irish boy Pierce back again, not some old goat.”

By now, Smith might be used to the many versions of her husband that she gets to see with each interesting role he takes on because, as it stands, the 71-year-old shows no signs of stopping.
