‘I’ve not heard’: Journalist says £40m player isn’t close to joining Tottenham, it’s gone quiet

Conor Gallagher to Tottenham is a transfer rumour that has been doing the rounds for the best part of a year now.

The England international was subject of a bid from Spurs last summer, while there was a lot of chat about this move in January.

Of course, the deal didn’t come off on either occasion, but that hasn’t stopped there being more and more speculation about Gallagher heading into this summer.

Speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, Dan Kilpatrick has shared what he knows about this situation, and he claims that he’s not heard anything to suggest that Gallagher is imminently going to join Spurs, claiming that things have actually gone quiet on his end.

Conor Gallagher to Tottenham rumours have died down

Kilpatrick shared what he knows about the £40m midfielder.

“Yeah I can certainly see it. I’ve not heard that he’s imminently due in at Spurs, I actually think it’s gone a bit quiet in the second-half of the season since January, but I’ve said this before that it’s no surprise that the likes of Gallagher and Hudson-Odoi are being linked,” Kilpatrick said.

Gallagher is one to watch

Things may have gone quiet on the Gallagher front at the moment, but, as we all ought to know by now, it only takes a few hours for a transfer rumour to really heat up again.

Let’s not forget, in January, Tottenham’s interest in Timo Werner seemingly came from out of nowhere, so don’t be shocked if Spurs manage to pull a surprise or two from out of nowhere this summer.

Gallagher is clearly still a player on Tottenham’s radar. After all, they made a bid last summer, and if Chelsea do indicate that the England international is up for sale, Spurs could look to strike a deal.

This one isn’t close, but it’s still a possibility heading into the summer.
