Police raid Milan/Cortina Olympics HQ in service providers probe

Italy's financial police on Tuesday raided the headquarters of the 2026 Milan/Cortina Winter Olympics organizing committee in connection with suspected irregularities around the selection of digital service providers for the Games.

Reports said that raids were also conducted at a company in Orvieto which was commissioned to provide digital services.

The probe is directed against three people but none of them are currently on the Olympic organizing committee. However, one of the suspects is reportedly a former committee managing director.

The organizing commmittee is controlled by the Italian Olympic Committee, the Lombardy and Veneto regions, and the Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo municipalities.

The Games are scheduled for February 6-22, 2026, followed by the Paralympics.
