Downham Stow Ladies beat Snettisham for first-ever league win

Downham Stow Ladies hardball team got their league season off to a great start with their first-ever win.

Snettisham Ladies travelled to Stow Hall on Friday evening and proved to be the usual tough opposition.

DSCC won the toss and chose to bowl. The bowling was extremely tight with the pick being Charlotte Beck claiming 2-7 from four overs and Molly Pybus 2-10 from three.

Snettisham batters Tracy Bower, Brittney Rose and Michelle Knott all provided some resistance by reaching double figures each but solid bowling in the latter stages, particularly by Molly Taylor and some really strong fielding by the whole DS team, prevented the run rate from increasing and a total of 69 was reached.

The Downham ladies started strongly with the bat and with the Snettisham bowling not up to their usual accurate way, wides proved to be very useful extras.

Beck finished 21 not out and Andrea Hoskins 13 not out with the loss of only the wicket of Chloe Lacey LBW to Bower for a nine-wicket win.win

Well done to Evie Griffin and Keeley Wymer for excellent debuts for the team. DSCC ladies are sponsored by Hart Farms and Downham Tandoori.
