‘Can’t deal with him’: Pundit says ‘intelligent’ Man City player is impossible to stop

Leroy Rosenior has said that one Manchester City star is completely unplayable.

After the Citizens wrapped up the Premier League title on the final day of the campaign against West Ham United with a 3-1 victory, their final game of the season will see them take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final this weekend.

Now though, one pundit has pinpointed one particular figure in the City ranks, who has played a big role in the club’s latest successful season, for some heavy praise based on what he offers the team on the pitch.

Speaking in a recent edition of Generation xG by Premier League Productions (via Optus Sport), Rosenior had this to say about Phil Foden and what it must be like to play against him.

He said: “That’s why opponents can’t deal with him because they don’t know where he will play, he just picks up the space that suits him.

“You can’t say to one player to go and deal with him because he plays where the space is, he’s so intelligent.”

Foden has been City’s star player this season

In 35 Premier League appearances this season, the 23-year-old scored 19 goals and delivered eight assists.

Across those 35 games, Foden made more key passes (73) than any other player in the City squad.

He also racked up the second-highest total of shot-creating actions (144), goal-creating actions (21), carries into the penalty area (56) and successful take-ons (47) at the club.

This showcases just how effective the Englishman is when it comes to being an attacking and creative presence on the ball and why Rosenior thinks it must be so difficult for opponents to subdue him.

Having been named the Premier League’s Player of the Season, before then going on to score two goals in the vital 3-1 win over West Ham, this tied up what has undeniably been a very successful and impressive individual season for Foden.
