Chelsea & Tottenham Hotspur fans react as Mauricio Pochettino officially leaves the club

Chelsea always like to do things the hard way it seems!

On Sunday, there was an air of positivity at the club after Mauricio Pochettino had ended the season in a strong fashion by beating Bournemouth and Chelsea finished sixth in the Premier League table.

Yet, fast forward to the present, and the former Tottenham Hotspur boss has left his role at Stamford Bridge after one year in charge.

At one point during the 2023/24 Premier League season, Chelsea were sitting in the bottom half, but they ended up only three points behind Spurs.

During the last 15 games of the campaign, only Premier League title winners Manchester City and second-placed Arsenal earned more points than Mauricio Pochettino‘s side.

But days later, on Tuesday evening, Chelsea are confirming on their official website that they have ‘mutually agreed to part ways’ with their manager.

Even someone like Nicolas Jackson, after his early struggles and troubles, was starting to change the narrative around him and he ended the season with 14 league goals.

But they will now have to start all over again because it’s back to square one in the summer and trying to challenge at the top of the table again.

When Pochettino first took the Chelsea job, there was a lot of anger amongst the Tottenham faithful because he was their best manager of the Premier League era, yet decided to join their rivals, even if it wasn’t direct.
