Josko Gvardiol now sends 26-word message to Manchester City fans after first PL title win

Josko Gvardiol has sent a message to Manchester City supporters, after winning his first Premier League title.

Manchester City made history on Sunday by becoming the first team ever to win four Premier League titles in a row.

Phil Foden scored two goals in the first-half against West Ham United, before Mohammed Kudus pulled one back in spectacular fashion. But Rodri then popped up in the second-half to put the game to bed with a fine strike from the edge of the box.

It is Pep Guardiola‘s sixth league title, with Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva, John Stones and Ederson having all won six as well.

Josko Gvardiol is now off the mark with his first, and the Croatia international took to social media on Tuesday evening to check in with supporters…

There are very few players in the City squad who have finished the season in better form than Josko Gvardiol.

The 22-year-old has gone to another level over the last couple of months, and seems to have really found his feet operating at left-back. In the beginning, it was tricky for him having come in as a new signing for big money and playing a new position.

There were some games, like away at Chelsea, where he just did not look comfortable.

But Gvardiol has worked really hard, and recently his development has been clear to see.

He’s also become a huge goal threat, with the £77 million man scoring five in his final nine appearances.

The youngster has been getting better by the week, and fans are extremely excited to see how he fares from next season onwards now that he knows the English game.

Gvardiol is pleased with the way his first term has gone, as he took to social media to thank the fans for their support. He said on X: “Dear Citizens, thank you for your strong support throughout the season! I’m excited for our journey ahead with you, my amazing teammates and @ManCity staff.”

What a player Man City have on their hands

Gvardiol can be really pleased with the way his first season has gone at Manchester City.

There was quite a lot of pressure on him when he signed, with rival fans keen to see him fail because of how much the club paid to sign him. The £77 million fee did appear to weigh heavy at times early on, but Gvardiol has had an emphatic end to the 2023/24 season.

It has just taken him a bit of time to learn a new position, and how the team plays.

We have seen several cases over the years of players not adapting immediately at City. The likes of Rodri, Jack Grealish, Joao Cancelo and Riyad Mahrez all had some struggles in their first seasons at the club.

Fans are rightly very excited about Gvardiol and what kind of level he could get to. His technical ability is exceptional, and against West Ham we finally saw him invert into midfield, which was very exciting indeed.
