Sean Combs’ ex Misa Hylton says his assault tape ‘triggered her own trauma’

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton says watching him assault his former partner Cassie Ventura has “triggered her own trauma”.

The rapper, 54, who is facing a string of abuse lawsuits, has apologised after surveillance camera footage emerged on 19 May showing him beating Cassie, now 37, at an LA hotel.

His ex Misa, 51, who was his first public relationship and with whom he has son Justin, 30, has now said watching the tape – released by CNN – has dredged up her own “trauma” over being with the rapper.

She said on Instagram alongside photos of Combs’ seven children: “I am heartbroken that Cassie must relive the horror of her abuse, and my heart goes out to her.

“I know exactly how she feels, and through my empathy, it has triggered my own trauma.”

Misa added her child and his siblings “were raised by women that want the best for them”.

Referring to Combs’ 17-year-old twin daughters, Jesse and D’Lila, whose mum Kim Porter died from pneumonia in November 2018 aged 47, she said: “We put God and education first and have always been united in our mutual effort to support their dreams.

“Two of the youngest do not have their mother here and it has been our duty to support them.”

Fashion designer Misa, who dated Combs in the early 1990s, ended her message by saying he “needs help”.

She also said she’s “praying that he truly does the personal work and receives it.”.

Meanwhile, Combs’ former bodyguard has also spoken out about the abuse allegations Combs is facing.

Roger Bonds said in an interview with Piers Morgan he saw Combs become violent towards women “around four or five times”.

Combs issued an apology video on his Instagram days after footage of his attack on Cassie emerged, blaming it on being in a dark place.

He is now facing a series of lawsuits from women lodged in late 2023 and early 2024 that include allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault, and he denies all claims against him.
