Report: Newly available manager is one to watch for Man Utd, he's keen to take over from Ten Hag

Ahead of the FA Cup final, Manchester United are still considering all managerial options. But there is a newly available option who’s keen.

After a tumultuous season for Manchester United, the future of Erik ten Hag remains uncertain, with much thought to be resting on the FA Cup final result.

Replacing Ten Hag isn’t something which many could argue against after he led United to the worst-ever Premier League campaign the club has endured.

An eighth-place finish and just 60 points don’t do his case much good and neither does the lack of a style of play.

Due to this, rumours over his replacement have persisted with one option now emerging being keen to replace Ten Hag this summer, as Ineos mulls over the decision.

Mauricio Pochettino is keen to replace Erik ten Hag this summer

After it emerged on Tuesday that Chelsea had cut ties with Mauricio Pochettino, immediately United were mentioned as having an interest in the Argentine.

Now, it’s been reported by talkSPORT that the feeling is mutual, with Pochettino being keen on becoming the new manager of United.

However, the report does add that United are yet to decide on whether to part ways with Ten Hag, a decision they’ve been waiting to make since arriving.

TalkSPORT isn’t the only voice to be talking about Pochettino to United either, with David Ornstein also discussing on Sky Sports his views on the chances of Pochettino arriving at United, as admitted he’s “clearly one to watch”.

As Ornstein mentioned, Ineos is known to like Pochettino and they even made a move to bring him to Nice in 2022.

Pochettino did enough at Chelsea to prove he should be first choice for Manchester United

While it didn’t work out at Chelsea for Pochettino, United absolutely shouldn’t let this deter them from making a move should a manager become needed.

At Chelsea, the former Spurs boss was getting it right since the turn of the year as he led his Blues to gain the fourth most points in the final 19 games of the season.

Clearly, Pochettino’s Chelsea were on an upward curve and frankly, the decision to part ways is slightly baffling, although United won’t be complaining as it’s opened up a potentially great option for United.

If Ten Hag is gone, United should look no further than Pochettino for the next manager of the club, he’s the best option available this summer.
