Two exciting new Subway desserts, the Footlong Cookie and Churro, are rumored to be coming to the UK this summer.
Both menu items launched across the US in January and were a huge success. Now, it looks like Brits could finally get their hands on one.
Subway’s Footlong Cookie and Churro
The news was shared by TikTok food account New Food Finds UK this week, who wrote: “You will not believe what is coming to Subway UK. Something big is coming. This is not a drill.”
They claimed the Footlong Cookie and Churro will be arriving at stores nationwide on Wednesday, June 5.
The Footlong Cookie is a long version of the fast food chain’s regular cookie, thick, gooey and packed with chocolate chips. If you’re a churro fan, the Footlong Churro is served warm and covered with cinnamon.
The launch hasn’t been confirmed by the food giant, but Subway employees are claiming it’s true in the comments.
One person wrote: “I’m assistant manger in a Subway in South Wales and we launch them [Footlong Cookies] and Churros on the 5th June.”
“I work at Subway and my manager has confirmed it!” someone else said.
A third person added: “Yess I work at Subway and got told about these weeks ago I’m so excited!!”
GRV Media and The Focus have reached out to Subway for comment.
The rumors come as McDonald’s has just announced a new summer menu, which includes a football-themed burger to celebrate the Euros.
The Subway Sidekicks range
In the US, the range is called Subway Sidekicks, an “irresistible collection” of Footlong Cookies, Churros and Pretzels that “give fans more of what they love about Subway,” the sandwich chain said in a press release.
It includes the Cinnabon Footlong Churro, Auntie Anne’s Footlong Pretzel and the Footlong Cookie. The pretzel is not speculated to be launching in the UK.
The Footlong Cookie first arrived at one store in Miami in November 2022 for a limited time to celebrate National Cookie Day. There were four different options loaded with various toppings.
Each one was inspired by their signature subs, including The Subway Cookie Club, The MexiCali, The Monster and The Great Pickle. Most of them were sweet, but the Pickle one combined sweet and savory with peanut butter, marshmallow crème, salty potato chips, savory bacon crumbles and dill pickles!
‘I need that Footlong Cookie’
The rumors have sent UK fast food fans wild, and everyone’s already counting down the days until June 5.
One person wrote on TikTok: “Footlong Cookie looks GOOOD.”
“I need that Footlong Cookie in my life,” said another.
A third person added: “I HAVE FOREVER BEEN JEALOUS OF AMERICA WITH THE FOOTLONG COOKIE.”
“Sorry what? Footlong Cookies I need to try,” someone else said.
Another added: “Our dreams and hopes might be coming true.”
