Report: £60m player has no intention of leaving Tottenham, despite claims Ange Postecoglou wants him sold

One Tottenham player has no intention of leaving N17 this summer – despite rumours Ange Postecoglou wants him sold.

The Australian experienced something of an eye-opening end to the 2023/24 campaign, in which he almost seemed to fall out of love with some players.

For example, a total of nine players are up for sale at Spurs this summer, according to Dean Jones.

However, one of these nine appear ready to dig their heels in, as they hold no intention of willingly waving goodbye to Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham

Richarlison intends to stay at Tottenham

Along with the aforementioned Jones, the Telegraph have also claimed that Richarlison is up for sale at Spurs this summer.

Now, however – according to PL Brasil – the South American plans to stay in north London.

The Brazilian news outlet believe Richarlison has interest from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, although the £60m forward does not hold any desire to join a Saudi Pro League side.

As such, the Tottenham No.9 has held talks internally with those at Spurs, and PL Brasil believe discussions were productive.

The north Londoners are now more open to keeping Richarlison around for the 2024/25 campaign – which comes after some sources claimed the hierarchy were split on whether to keep him.

In 31 appearances last season, the 27-year-old scored 12 goals and also provided four assists.

Only Heung-min Son outscored the Brazilian at Spurs, netting 17 goals in all competitions.

Ange Postecoglou has replacement in mind

Despite PL Brasil’s update on Richarlison, anything can happen in football, and it seems Postecoglou has a replacement in mind if the Brazil international does end up leaving.

A story from talkSPORT states that the 58-year-old is a huge admirer of Bournemouth No.9 Dominic Solanke, and would ideally like to bring the England international to north London this summer.

The Basingstoke-born striker enjoyed a remarkable 2023/24 campaign with 21 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions, so you can see why Postecoglou likes him.

Therefore, if Richarlison does leave, Tottenham could well submit a bid for Solanke.
