Taylor Swift backup dancer finally opens up on reality of working for the billionaire

Taylor Swift’s former backup dancer Charity has answered everything Swifties want to know about working for the popstar, and how she landed the job in the first place.

The music star knows how to put on a good show, you only need to look at her worldwide sell-out Eras Tour to know that. However, Taylor Swift couldn’t do it without the help of her backup dancers. Charity Baroni started working with the singer in 2009, performing on stage during her Fearless tour and then later for her Speak Now world tour. She’s now giving her unfiltered opinion on what it was really like to work alongside the pop icon.

Taylor Swift’s former back up dancer ‘didn’t know who she was’ before joining the team

Charity revealed that her career with the Bad Blood singer started back in 2009 when she got a call from her best friend Liz asking her if she wanted to go on tour with “this girl named Taylor Swift.”

At this point, Tay’s former dancer told her TikTok followers that she didn’t even know who the singer was at this point but “of course she wanted to go on tour.”

By 2009, Swift had released albums Taylor Swift (2006) and Fearless (2008). The singles Teardrops on My Guitar, Love Story, and You Belong with Me, which gained the star mainstream fame had also been released.

Liz Huett was one of Tay’s backup singers, who recommended Charity to the team. “I received the call on Saturday and flew in one Sunday. Before I knew it, I booked the job and I learned all the dances in one night,” the dancer recalled.

Charity then went on to explain that she met the 14-time Grammy Award winner, who is currently dating Travis Kelce, the day after the call, and said “Working with her has changed the trajectory of my life.”

“She was an incredible boss and friend,” the 37-year-old said.

The dancer also worked for Taylor’s bestie

As well as the Love Story singer, Charity also danced for her bestie, Selena Gomez. “Omg you were Selena’s dancer too!” a user wrote in the comments, to which Baroni replied: “Yes!!”

The user said she saw her on stage at the 2013 At The Star Dance tour, and said she was “amazing.”

She then took to TikTok to say it was ‘amazing’ being Gomez’s backup dancer, sharing pictures of the two enjoying life on and off stage together.

Charity was also close to Taylor as well, as she posted a similar kind of montage. The girls aren’t just backup dancers, they’re friends too!
