Taylor Swift must have 'went home and stalked' Travis Kelce over common catchphrase

Investigative Taylor Swift fans on Reddit have uncovered that the lyirc “You already know, babe” may be a subtle nod to Travis Kelce on the track So High School.

Ranked in the top 1% largest subreddits on the entire site, the Taylor Swift community is constantly active on Reddit – and this time they have suggested that there could be a Travis Kelce reference on So High School which you may have missed. Redditors are praising the “amazing” reference, which they believe showcases Swift’s knack for writing meaningful lyrics with an air of subtlety.

Taking to the R/TaylorSwift page, one fan has presented their theory about the track So High School, which features on the bonus, Anthology version of Swift’s most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department. “Maybe this is already well-known, I’m not sure, but I thought I’d provide some insight into the “you already know” lyric in So High School”, wrote the fan, under the username CuriousCleaver.

“I live in KC (Kansas City) and am a Chiefs fan, so I’ve been following Travis’ career and personal life for years”, they continued. “This article came out last year, just prior to the huge TS (Taylor Swift) spotlight, and it mentions how frequently Travis says, ‘You already know.'”

The article in question is a feature piece on Kelce which, as the Redditor notes, mentions how frequently Kelce uses the phrase “You already know”.

The So High School lyric in question is the line that Swift drops in the bridge of the song and then at the end, in which she says: “Brand new, full throttle, You already know, babe”.

The “You already know” lyric is just one of a few lines in the song that have been linked to Kelce, including “Are you gonna marry, kiss or kill me?”, which is said to be a reference to a 2016 interview by Kelce in which he said he would kiss Swift in a game of Kiss, Marry, Kill.

Swift also drops the line “You know how to ball, I know Aristotle”, which feels like a rather obvious nod to the Superbowl-winning Tight end.

Fans joke that Swift “stalked” Kelce

The supposed discovery prompted a wave of discussion among the Swifties, who seemed to generally agree that the song was in fact dedicated to Kelce.

“This is amazing to read now”, wrote one fan. “Especially with the headline and how “crazy” his off-season was … and it was only just beginning!” they added, referring to the whirlwind months Kelce has had since the Vanity Fair article was published last summer.

“Oh wow, I never noticed how often he says that!” Added another pleasantly surprised fan. “I already loved So High School, but this added a whole other level of cuteness to it”.

Jokingly, a Swifite congratulated their idol, writing: “She went home and (successfully!) stalked him on the internet!!”

Another fan couldn’t help but reference The Office, adding: “It’s unfortunate that I can never not read the phrase “you already know” in the voice of Dwight Schrute”
