The Cavinder Twins are making their return to the NIL space.

After leaving college athletics for a year, Haley and Hanna Cavinder have decided to return and play their final year of eligibility at Miami. It’s a homecoming as they played the 2022-23 women’s basketball season with the Hurricanes after starting their careers at Fresno State.

On Wednesday, the Cavinder Twins announced a new partnership with Slate Milk. They are investing in the protein drink while also signing endorsement deals to become ambassadors for the brand. Slate’s list of athletes include Maxx Crosby and Duncan Robinson.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Haley and Hanna,” Slate Milk co-founder Manny Lubin said in a statement. “Haley and Hanna have done a remarkable job of becoming trailblazers in the new NIL partnership culture that we live in. They’re hard-working, smart, and we think embody the gritty and underdog mentality we appreciate here at Slate.”

The Cavinder Twins are are scheduled to attend next week’s On3 Elite Series, the invitation-only event for elite 2025 football prospects that grants them and their family an all-expenses-paid trip to Nashville from May 28 to 30th.

The duo announced their first NIL deal with Boost Mobile in Times Square on the first day of college sports’ new era on July 1, 2021. From there, they’ve used their combined social media following of more than five million to sign with brands like Raising Cane’s, Victoria’s Secret PINK and Champs Sports.

“Slate Milk presents a unique opportunity to not only invest our own capital but provide our NIL in a way that truly epitomizes our passions on and off the court,” Hanna Cavinder said.

Haley Cavinder averaged 16.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists in the 2022-23 season. She entered the transfer portal this past October and committed to TCU before ultimately flipping to Miami. Hanna Cavinder has averaged 12.4 points in 123 career games.

In their one season in Coral Gables, they helped the Hurricanes reach the Elite Eight for the first time in program history. Miami finished the season 22-13 on the season and 11-7 in ACC play. The first stint was with head coach Katie Meier, who has since retired.

Miami hired Tricia Cullop as its new head coach in April. The longtime Toledo coach was a six-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year and led the Rockets to five MAC regular season championships and 11 postseason berths.

“Hanna and I have decided to not take our fifth year and start a new chapter in our lives,” Haley wrote on social media about the decision to return to Miami. “The U will always be home and we are forever proud to be Hurricanes.”
