Oregon QB Commit Earns Elite-11 Finals Invite

As the Elite-11 finalizes its roster for its June 26-28 event in Los Angeles, a new invite was sent out today. And it was Oregon’s commit on the receiving end of the honor.

Earlier today Lincoln (Calif.) quarterback Akili Smith Jr. was announced as a new addition to the Elite-11 finals. The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder was a participant at the Las Vegas regionals.

Another Oregon target in the 2025 class, Duncanville (Texas) star Keelon Russell will also be at the event.

Smith is the No. 101 ranked player in the On3 Industry Rankings. He is the No. 9 ranked quarterback and No. 9 ranked player in the state of California.

Smith joins these 17 other invitees along with Russell: USC commit Julian Lewis, Ohio State pledge Tavien St. Clair, Notre Dame commit Deuce Knight, Texas A&M commit Husan Longstreet, Texas commit K.J. Lacey, Oklahoma commit Kevin Sperry, Florida State pledge Tramell Jones, North Carolina commit Bryce Baker, Missouri commit Matt Zollers, Georgia pledge Ryan Montgomery, TCU commit Ty Hawkins, Tennessee pledge George MacIntyre, Nebraska commit TJ Lateef, uncommitted four-star Malik Washington, Iowa State commit Alex Manske, Mississippi State pledge KaMario Taylor and Miami pledge Luke Nickel.

The 2024 Elite 11 Finals will bring together top performers to receive advanced, one-on-one quarterback instruction in a highly competitive setting. The 2024 Elite 11 Finals will span three days and include on-field drills, competition, classroom instruction and off-field development. The 2024 Elite 11, and 2024 Elite 11 MVP, will be named at the conclusion of the Elite 11 Finals.

Founded in 1999, the Elite 11 is the premier quarterback event in the nation. Elite 11 event alumni include 28 of the past 32 current NFL starting quarterbacks, and 16 of the past 17 quarterbacks who have hoisted the Heisman Trophy
