Top committed cornerbacks in the 2025 class

5-star CB Devin Sanchez (Sam Spiegelman, On3)

As the summer heats up, some of the nation’s top cornerback recruits are already committed. But that doesn’t mean they’re completely off the board.

Despite making early pledges, nearly all of the top defenders will be courted by other programs until they sign in December of February. As it stands on May 23, 5 of the nation’s top 17 cornerbacks are committed, with more surely to announce their commitments in the next few months.

Devin Sanchez – Ohio State commit

On3 Industry Ranking: No. 5
School: Houston (Texas) North Shore

Scouting Summary: “Devin Sanchez is a tall, athletic cornerback with a high level of technical skill as an underclassman prospect. Stars for one of the top high school football programs in the state of Texas. Listed at an unverified 6-foot-2, 170 pounds. Took a big jump as a sophomore, showing lockdown tendencies, particularly in man coverage. Smooth and technical with the footwork, instincts and play speed to stay attached. Makes some impressive plays in downfield coverage. Turned in some strong track times as a sophomore, with a personal best of 10.81 seconds in the 100 meters. Looks to have one of the best size and speed combinations among cornerbacks early on in the 2025 cycle. Will need to continue adding good mass and strength in addition to continuing to develop his already solid ball skills.”

Na’eem Offord – Ohio State commit

On3 Industry Ranking: No. 7
School: Birmingham (Ala.) Parker

Scouting Summary: “Na’eem Offord is a twitchy, highly coordinated athlete who projects as one of the top defensive back prospects in the 2025 cycle. Has plus stature and length, measuring in at close to 6-foot-1, 180-pounds. Registered as one of the top athletes on the spring camp circuit prior to his junior season. Is a two-way star on Friday nights, making plays on offense as a receiver and ball carrier while doubling as a cornerback. Rarely tested on defense, but shows his considerable athleticism and plus ball skills on offense. Very fluid and surprisingly polished in defensive back drills in the camp setting. Looks to have notable upside at defensive back once he focuses on the position full-time.”

Jaboree Antoine – LSU commit

On3 Industry Ranking: No. 57
School: New Iberia (La.) Westgate

Scouting Summary: “Jaboree Antoine is a long-bodied versatile defensive back prospect with tremendous cover skills and ability to break up passes at the catch point. Measured in at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds during summer campus visits. Smooth in his back pedal and transitions. Very comfortable in man coverage, sticky defender. Excellent field vision and ability to break to the football once the quarterback pulls the trigger. Unverified long speed but is a smooth mover with twitch that can play as a center field safety. Also displays impressive movement skills when playing quarterback for his high school team as well. Willing tackler when working downhill but not overly violent. Verified top-end speed could assist in determining his ceiling but has an extremely high floor regardless.”

Shamari Earls – South Carolina commit

On3 Industry Ranking: No. 103
School: Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale

Summary: Shamari Earls prides himself on being an all-around, do-it all player. “Coaches love my film and love how explosive I am – my size and athleticism,” he said. “Coaches also say my good grades play a big part in being the complete player they covet.” Earls is a three-phase player in high school. During his junior season at Thomas Dale, Earls had 29 catches for 715 yards and eight touchdowns, had 172 yards and a touchdown in the return game and he had 25 tackles, three interceptions and four pass breakups. Earls also excels on the track. Heading into his junior track season, he had a personal best 6.36 second 55 meters. As a sophomore, Earls won the state title in the long jump (23-10.75) with a top 10 distance in the nation.”

Trystan Haynes – Oklahoma commit

On3 Industry Ranking: No. 139
School: Midwest City (Okla.)

Recruiting Summary: Oklahoma State was first program to offer Trystan Haynes. Not long after the Cowboys, he added an offer from the Oklahoma Sooners. Haynes grew up following the in-state program and added his name to the commitment list in May.

“Staying home and playing for Oklahoma played into my recruitment throughout the whole process,” Haynes told On3’s Chad Simmons. “To wear Oklahoma on my chest means the world. A lot of my family is Oklahoma fans, many of my friends follow the program, so to stay home means everything to me.”

Cobey Sellers – Texas A&M commit

On3 Industry Ranking: No. 158
School: Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek

Recruiting Summary: Cobey Sellers was on the verge of committing to Oklahoma during the winter. But the four-star cornerback out of Pearland (Texas) Shadow was one of the first recruits Mike Elko checked on after taking over at Texas A&M and after giving the new staff a chance, Sellers decided to stay home.

“For the longest time, I felt like Oklahoma was the right fit for me,” Sellers told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Texas A&M came in, showed me love, I took a couple of visits and decided they were best for me. I made my final decision about three weeks ago.

On3 Industry Ranking: No. 103
School: Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale

Recruiting Summary: Deyjhon Pettaway committed to Texas A&M in January over offers from Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Georgia and a number of other programs.

“They all have a plan for what’s next for Texas A&M and I believe it’s a really good one,” Pettaway told On3 after visiting the Aggies earlier that month. “They poured so much knowledge into me and told me where could A&M be at and where it’s at right now. They know what needs to be done in order to proceed with those plans.”

Devin Williams – Auburn commit

On3 Industry Ranking: No. 215
School: Buford (Ga.)

Recruiting Summary: In February, Devin Williamswas lining up spring visits to Auburn, Notre Dame and Texas A&M. He even had dates locked in for trips to the Plains, South Bend and College Station. Then he started having that feeling. That feeling didn’t go away. So he canceled those visits and followed his heart.

“I committed to Auburn,” Williams told On3’s Chad Simmons when he pledged. “It was a different feeling. I was planning some visits in the spring, I thought I would take official visits, but over the last four or five days, it just hit me. The more I thought about it, I knew Auburn was where I wanted to be. I knew it was time to commit and I knew Auburn the school.”

Alex Graham – Colorado commit

On3 Industry Ranking: No. 251
School: Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

Recruiting Summary: Colorado didn’t start charging hard in the recruitment of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star cornerback Alex Graham until early this year.

The Detroit native fielded more than 40 offers and was also being courted by the likes of Alabama, Georgia and Michigan. As soon as he got his first call from the Buffaloes, though, the new Big 12 program jumped to the top of his list. And at the end of April, he announced for Deion Sanders and Co.
