Sir Keir Starmer has arrived in the county to officially launch his party’s election campaign.

The Labour leader at Gillingham Football Club’s Priestfield Stadium.

He was joined on stage by Naushabah Khan, who is hoping to defeat incumbent Rehman Chishti who has held the seat since 2010, and deputy leader Angela Rayner.

Several other Kent candidates joined them including Mike Tapp for Dover, Lauren Edwards for Rochester and Strood and Lewis Bailey from Tonbridge and Malling.
