What Kevin De Bruyne said to Mateo Kovacic in the dressing room after winning his first PL title at Man City

Behind-the-scenes footage has emerged of what Kevin De Bruyne said to Mateo Kovacic in the dressing room after Manchester City won the Premier League title.

Last weekend, the Blues beat West Ham United 3-1 on the final day of the Premier League season to win their sixth title in seven years.

They also became the first side to win four in a row to top off another successful campaign.

Now though, some interesting footage has come to light during the dressing room celebrations involving two big players in the City squad.

In a recent video shared on the club’s official YouTube channel, De Bruyne was seen saying this to Kovacic in the dressing room after Saturday’s title-winning victory.

He said: “This is what you came for.”

City signed the Croatian from fellow Premier League side Chelsea in a deal worth a reported fee of £30m during the previous summer transfer window.

Kovacic has done something at City he never did at Chelsea

Across his debut league campaign at the Manchester club, Kovacic appeared in 30 matches, starting 16 of them and scoring one goal.

The two midfielders featured in 11 league games together throughout the season and were on the pitch together for the final minutes of Saturday’s crucial win against West Ham when the title was confirmed.

Having failed to win a Premier League title during his four years at Chelsea, it’s easy to see why De Bruyne, who has now won six league titles with City, has suggested that this is what Kovacic came to the Manchester club to do.

This weekend will give Kovacic the chance to do something else at City he didn’t do at Chelsea – win the FA Cup.

If the Blues go on to beat Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, this would top off what has already been a very successful debut season at City for the Croatia international and further highlight why he came to the club.
