'That's important': Journalist says he's been told there's something Arne Slot does better than anyone else

Liverpool fans won’t have to wait too much longer until Arne Slot is officially in the building.

The Dutch coach signed off from Feyenoord in style on Sunday, winning his final match 4-0 and leading the team to second place.

From there, Slot will no doubt take a little break, before his Liverpool tenure starts on June 1st. It remains to be seen exactly when we get the first shots of the 45-year-old at the AXA Training Centre.

For the moment, although they’ll be looking forward to welcoming Slot, Liverpool supporters are still in mourning mode for Jurgen Klopp. It still hasn’t properly hit home that the German will not be at Anfield next season.

When that passes though, the prospect of what comes next under Slot is enticing. And according to journalist Jonathan Norcroft, Reds fans have one reason in particular to be excited about their new head coach.

Journalist shares ‘off the scale’ Arne Slot attribute

It was always going to be an enormous job for whoever came in after Klopp at Liverpool. Not only are you following a successful manager football wise, but you’ve also got to replace Jurgen’s personality.

To say the 56-year-old was a father figure for the whole fanbase might be over-egging it, but not by much. Klopp’s communication and ability to strike the right tone for whatever occasion truly elevated him.

It will obviously be exceptionally hard for Slot to match that, especially straightaway.

Nevertheless, speaking on The Transfer Podcast, journalist Northcroft has explained what he’s been told about the new man’s communication skills.

“It was put to me that his communication is off the scale,” says the reporter. “One of my contacts said ‘I’ve never heard a Dutch coach speak such good English’ and that’s important.”

When pre-season will start under Arne Slot

By the time Slot gets to Liverpool, expectation will likely have increased even further about his appointment.

The Dutchman was perhaps initially seen as a slightly risky appointment by FSG. However, the more you hear about Slot, the better he sounds.

Of course the new man will need time, though. After such a long time of Klopp, we’re going to have to allow for a rather large grace period.

Slot won’t be helped by the fact that many of his players will be off playing for their country’s this summer. On Wednesday more were confirmed in that regard, with young Ben Doak earning a call-up for Scotland.

While those players will need a little longer, it has been reported that Slot will be back with those not involved in the first week of July. After all of this hype, we’re really looking forward to that.
