Reported Rangers target’s fiancé drops Ibrox transfer hint on Instagram as player jets in

It looks like Rangers are closing in on a deal for Brazilian left-back Jefte and the Fluminense talent’s fiancé might’ve just dropped the biggest hint yet.

In the age of social media, no footballer is safe from internet sleuthing as fans look for transfer clues and neither apparently are their wives and girlfriends.

Whilst the likes of Fabrizio Romano have this week suggested Jefte is all set to jet into Glasgow to dot the t’s and cross the i’s on a summer switch, all the sounds from the 20-year-old’s camp have been tight-lipped.

So tight-lipped in fact that the APOEL loanee hasn’t even responded to an offer from the Cypriot outfit.

But now one of the biggest clues yet that Rangers are hot on the Brazilian’s tail has just come through the shape of the player’s fiancé on Instagram.

Jefte’s partner in Instagram transfer hint

The Instagram biography of Gabriella, Jefte’s partner, includes a diamond ring emoji alongside a tag of Jefte Vital’s official page.

Also including a picture alongside Jefte on her wall, eagle-eyed Rangers fans have noticed that the Ibrox-bound left-back’s partner follows Rangers on the social media platform.

Combine this with widespread reporting that Rangers are closing in on a deal for Jefte and suddenly fans are starting to get excited about the left-back joining the club.

Having been a target for Rangers in the January window, the Gers couldn’t strike a deal with eventual Cypriot champions APOEL to release the left-back from his loan contract.

Now closing in on a move to Ibrox, Jefte could well be the first signing of the summer as Nils Koppen’s Rangers revolution kicks into action.

Rangers transfer business ramps up

Rangers have been linked with a whole host of names so far this transfer window but five in particular appear a little more concrete than the rest.

Amid talk that Rangers may be targeting a minimum of 12 new signings this summer, Jefte Vital is primed to become the first of a dozen new names at Ibrox.

Alongside the Brazilian left-back is Panamanian centre-back Jose Cordoba, who has been strongly linked with a £3.2m move from Levski Sofia.

There is also South African midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng whilst links to Rapid Bucharest’s Kosovan hitman Albion Rrahmani aren’t going away.

Rangers have also been strongly linked with a move for former Academy goalkeeper Liam Kelly.

It’s an exciting start to the window for sure and whilst few in Scotland can attest to having watched Jefte play, the reports have captured the imagination of supporters.

If you can’t get excited about a young Brazilian left back moving to your club, then maybe you should start asking if football is really for you.
