More than 800 young athletes took part in a triathlon event and raised an amazing £85,000 for charity.
The Knight Frank Schools Triathlon was hosted by Sevenoaks School and involved 816 entrants who came from 20 different schools and who, between them, ran, swam and cycled a distance equivalent to a journey to Barcelona.
The Mayor of Sevenoaks, Cllr Claire Shea, attended to cheer on the boys and girls, who were all of primary school age, and the World Paralympic Champion cyclist Katie-George Dunlevy, who suffers from visual impairment, was the special guest at the event.
The triathlon is one of a series organised by the youth charity Restless Development, and thanks to the sponsorship of Knight Frank estate agents, all the money raised by the children will go directly to their chosen charities.
Sevenoaks School staff and students acted as stewards for the day which was attended by an estimated 2,000 people.
It was the second year that Sevenoaks School has hosted the event.
The Mayor said: “I loved it. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming, and the cause so very worthwhile.”
