Jack Grealish shares what Pep Guardiola is actually like behind the scenes at Man City

Jack Grealish has shared what Pep Guardiola is like with the players behind the scenes at Manchester City.

The winger recently ended his third Premier League campaign at the Manchester club by winning his third title in a row and the club’s sixth in seven years.

Ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup final against Manchester United, Grealish has shared some behind-the-scenes details on what it’s been like to have Guardiola as his manager and how he’s helped him get through what has been a difficult individual season for the Englishman.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Grealish had this to say when asked about Guardiola and what he’s like behind the scenes.

He said: “He’s quite intense, as you’ve probably seen, but that was on a few of the clips [from City’s Treble documentary].

“Sometimes, I find with him, if we’ve played well, he goes more mad if we’ve played well, whereas if we haven’t played that well, then he wants to give us a bit of love.

“He’s an unbelievable manager. I said it the other day after the game in my interview, there’s been times this season where I’ve struggled off the pitch with my own stuff and I’ll openly say that.

“He’s been there for me, I’ve been in his office a few times with me and him. I’ve been out for food with him and he’s been unbelievable.

“He’s a great manager, in my opinion, easily the best ever but more than anything he’s a really good person. He has a big heart and I thank him for that this season.”

Grealish had a difficult season after Treble success

After starting 23 of the 28 Premier League games he appeared in last season, the 28-year-old only started 10 of the 20 league games he featured in this time around.

Now that the England international has shared not only how much he values Guardiola as a manager but also how much he’s helped him on a personal level throughout what has been a tough season for Grealish, this highlights how much of a strong relationship he can have with his players, even the ones who may not be regulars in the team.
