Former White House trade adviser Peter Navarro lost another bid to be released from prison after he was convicted of contempt of Congress for ignoring a subpoena from the Jan. 6 Committee.

In a ruling on Thursday, the full federal Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit said that it would not rehear a three-judge panel's earlier ruling.

"Upon consideration of appellant's petition for rehearing en banc, and the absence of a request by any member of the court, it is ordered that the petition be denied," the short ruling stated.

The three-judge panel previously found that Navarro failed to present "substantial questions of law" that might overturn his conviction.

The U.S. Supreme Court also denied an emergency request to release Navarro from prison.

The former Trump administration official is serving four months and is scheduled to be released on July 17. Navarro has said that he plans to speak at the Republican National Convention after being released.
