‘So much potential’: Kieran Gibbs now thinks Inter Miami have another ‘exciting’ youngster on their hands

Kieran Gibbs has claimed Inter Miami now have another exciting prospect on their hands after last week’s results.

The Herons easily have the best squad ever constructed in MLS history, with Lionel Messi the best player the division has ever seen with Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba also on the roster.

Yet away from the superstar names, Inter Miami have an array of talented youngsters, namely Diego Gomez, Federico Redondo and Benjamin Cremaschi, a trio who could all end up going to Europe in the next 18 months.

And Gibbs has now added another name to this impressive list of Inter Miami talents.

Gibbs lauds Tomas Aviles after ‘commanding’ MLS performances

Speaking on the Inter Miami Weekly Show, the former England international showered Tomas Aviles with praise after back-to-back clean sheets for the Herons, with the 19-year-old defender an absolute rock at the back during these results.

Gibbs said about Aviles: “He’s a player who’s grown in stature in a short space of time. He didn’t struggle at first but it has been an adjustment for him, but I’m definitely impressed by his recent performances.

“He’s a player who has all the capacity, physically. He’s tall, he’s strong, he can move quite quickly for a center-halve over a short distance, and he’s starting to be more commanding now and establishing himself as one of the main center-halves in the team.

“It’s exciting to see him develop as a player, he’s so young and he’s got so much potential, so I hope he keeps up this form.”

Aviles can become one of Inter Miami’s most important players

Despite a shaky start to life in MLS, Aviles has really grown into his own in recent weeks for Inter Miami, with this summer a big one for the defender with Messi set to take part in the Copa America.

With center-back partner Nicolo Freire also out for the rest of the season, Aviles will have a lot of responsibility on his shoulders in the coming months with Inter Miami looking to qualify for the playoffs.

Yet if the teenage defender can keep up this level of form, there’s no telling how far Aviles can go, with the center-back on course to become one of Inter Miami’s most important players.
