After entering the NCAA transfer portal in April, former Arkansas running back Isaiah Augustave has committed to the Colorado Buffalos, he announced on social media.

Augustave spent just one lone season with the Razorbacks, now joining head coach Deion Sanders in Boulder as a sophomore that could potentially make a big impact for Colorado’s offense.

As a true freshman at Arkansas, Augustave appeared in 11 games and made one start, ending the season with 35 carries for 202 yards and a touchdown. With the 6-foot-2, 208-pound rusher from Florida averaging an impressive 5.8 yards per carry.

Augustave had a strong finish to the 2023 season after making the most of an expanded role in the backfield, rushing for a career-high 101 yards on 14 carries versus Florida International followed by 80 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries in the first start of his career in the season finale against Missouri. Also catching three passes against the Tigers and leading the team in rushing during the final two weeks of the season.

Augustave played high school football at Naples High School in Florida where he was a four-star prospect. Ranked the No. 297 overall recruit and the No. 19 running back in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

With the addition of Augustave, Colorado has added 40 new players to their roster through the transfer portal representing yet another offseason of massive roster turnover. As Augustave becomes the second running back to join the Buffaloes through the transfer portal this offseason along with former Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden.

Last year’s leading rusher Dylan Edwards entered the transfer portal this offseason and will suit up for TCU in 2024. With backs like Alton McCaskill and Sy’Veon Wilkerson also departing from the Colorado program.

The Buffs were the worst rushing team in the country last season averaging an abysmal 68.9 yards per game on the ground, as they’ll look upon Augustave, Hayden, a reworked offensive line, and others to help improve that area of their offensive attack.
