'Patri-skfjskl': Social media ridicules ex-president's Bronx rally slip-ups

Donald Trump on Thursday was mocked online for multiple apparent slips of the tongue at his Bronx rally.

Trump's campaign event in New York was unique in that the former president was purportedly targeting a state he has no chance of winning in the election. Raw Story also reported that police on scene were surprised by the low turnout, and that some people were filing out as Trump was still speaking to the N.Y. crowd.

One thing that stood out to those watching was when Trump appeared to stutter his speech and switch topics entirely.

Joe Biden's rapid-response campaign arm emphasized one slip-up.

"Trump, slurring and glitching: It is hardworking patri-skfjskl," the account wrote Thursday.

"And it is hard working" Trump said before garbling his speech. It appears he was attempting to say patriots, but he instantly changed topic. "And this is something you can say it, and you can say it a million times."

@Jonathan_Winn replied, "His voice, the higher pitch, the glitching, the odd sounds and noises in place of words, it reminds me of my father after his stroke on the days when it was obvious he was struggling cognitively. It doesn't get better from here on out. It just gets worse."

Democrat Harry Sisson also expressed concern.

"YIKES!!! Donald Trump just glitched badly saying 'It is hardworking patri-skfjskl.' Uhhh what???" he asked on Thursday. "Does anyone have any idea what he just said? Trump is struggling badly at this rally. Sleepy Donald needs to head to bed."

Journalist Aaron Rupar described it this way:

"Trump glitches: it is hard working patriish-lic."

In a separate slip-up flagged on social media, Trump says, "This is unacceptal-- we-- it's unacceptable."

@Acyn reported that, "Trump glitches briefly."

@Out5p0ken replied, "This is unacceptal."
