Rapper Sean Kingston arrested in California

Rapper Sean Kingston was arrested in California on Thursday, hours after his mother was taken into custody during a SWAT raid of a Florida mansion.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office said Kingston was arrested without incident about 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

Police raided the property on Thursday morning. Officials later confirmed that Janice Turner, 61, was taken into custody on numerous fraud and theft charges.

Police loaded a van with goods after the raid.

The sheriff's office has declined to release specific details about charges, the Associated Press reported.

Robert Rosenblatt, an attorney for Kingston said of the allegations, "We look forward to addressing these in court and are confident of a successful resolution for Shawn and his mother."

Kingston is a Jamaican-American rapper and singer known for his hit songs "Beautiful Girls", "Fire Burning", and "Eenie Meenie."

His legal name is Kisean Anderson and he rents the mansion, CBS reported.
