Callum McGregor’s message regarding what will get Celtic over the line in Scottish Cup final

Celtic captain Callum McGregor is in the mood to do battle with Rangers this Saturday as his side bid to win a domestic double.

The 30-year-old has led the fight in the Scottish Premiership this term, rallying the troops in precarious moments to deliver where it ultimately mattered.

McGregor has also played in every Glasgow Derby clash this season, yielding three victories and a draw at Ibrox in April, and he will be desperate to get the better of Celtic’s bitter rivals at Hampden come this weekend.

Intriguingly, speaking in his pre-match press conference, the skipper revealed Brendan Rodgers has implemented a club-wide internal process that the players follow rigorously to stay calm under pressure.

Composure at the national stadium is set to be key tomorrow, and he has now shed further insight on what he believes Celtic need to do to emerge victorious against Rangers.

Callum McGregor’s rallying call ahead of Rangers clash

Delving into how the Hoops’ may approach the Scottish Cup final, McGregor said [Celtic FC]: “When I get to these occasions, I just try and really focus in on the occasion, on the game, what you’ve got to do to make it a success and focus on the team and again, that’ll be the thing that gets us over the line

“That selflessness, team ethic, the team working for each other, working and running and doing all the nasty bits of the game that’ll hopefully take us over the line, so hopefully, come Saturday we’ll have another positive experience to look back on.

Success doesn’t happen by accident, and McGregor must be doing something right concerning his approach, as he is battling to win his 22nd trophy as a Celtic player at Hampden.

Undoubtedly, Rangers will be keen to try and block his path; however, Celtic have shown they know how to handle the big occasion under Rodgers’ stewardship, and the Irishman has lost just once against the Hoops’ city rivals in 17 encounters.

The scene is set for an exciting occasion at Hampden, and hopefully, a sea of green and white can roar their side on to claiming another piece of silverware.
