Aston Villa eye £1.2m move for highly-rated forward who’s like Didier Drogba

Aston Villa are eyeing a forward in the transfer market who has been likened to legendary Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.

After qualifying for the Champions League and reaching the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League, Unai Emery has said it’s his ‘dream’ to push Aston Villa to even greater heights.

Despite being forced into selling players to comply with Financial Fair Play rules, Villa are still looking at ways to bolster their squad with talks at an advanced stage to sign former loanee Ross Barkley on a permanent transfer from Luton Town.

The Spaniard wants to improve his squad with depth to compete across all fronts next term while also acquiring talented youngsters for the future.

Emery satisfied his appetite for landing precious talents in the January transfer window, with Kosta Nedeljkovic, Morgan Rogers, Joe Gauci and Linso Sousa all arriving at Villa Park.

All aged 23 or under, that quartet of youngsters are set to have big futures in B6 and the Villa boss isn’t stopping there.

Aston Villa eye talented teenage forward Aziz Musibau

Any forward Villa sign are likely told they’ll be acquired with the future in mind.

Ollie Watkins‘ incredible scoring form has made it impossible for any striker to dislodge him from the starting XI, with Jhon Duran knowing too well the struggles of playing deputy to the Englishman.

While Watkins is in the form of his life, ending the campaign with the most assists in the Premier League, Emery is looking at a potential future replacement for the 28-year-old.

According to the Daily Mail, Villa are eyeing up a move for highly-rated Ghanaian forward Aziz Musibau from side Dreams FC.

Aged just 17, Musibau is being watched by several sides across Europe, including Scottish giants Celtic, with Dreams commanding a fee of just £1.2 million to land his signature.

The talented teenage forward is already garnering a positive reputation in his native country as he’s been cited as the next Didier Drogba due to his ‘barnstorming running style’ and ‘powerful shot’.

Aziz Musibau could be Ollie Watkins’ heir

Over the years, so many brilliant African forwards have graced the Premier League. Drogba, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are just some of the names that stick out.

Musibau is currently being hyped up and the 2006-born forward has aspirations of following a similar path to the above names, making a name for himself in Europe and being the latest prodigy from African shores.

If he does join Villa, he’ll be thrown into the under-21 side and this is where he can showcase his reputation as a clinical scorer with a powerful shot which likens him to Drogba.

Indeed, making the switch to B6 would also see him crave the challenge of dislodging Watkins from his throne as the king of Villa’s attack.

It’s an unenvious task for many strikers across Europe, never mind a 17-year-old, but if he lives up to the praise fired towards him, there’s no reason he can’t become an elite forward.
