'One of the best': Andre Onana tips 'killer' Man Utd player to be match-winner in the FA Cup final

With just hours remaining until the FA Cup final for Manchester United, Andre Onana has chosen one teammate as a potential game-winner.

The FA Cup final on Saturday is the biggest game Manchester United have had all season, and it’s got plenty riding on it at Wembley this weekend.

The result of the final will have an impact on the summer for United, with several questions still needing to be answered, including the future of Erik ten Hag.

But those questions can all wait until next week, with silverware on the line this weekend, and in advance, Andre Onana has named one teammate he thinks can be a match-winner for United in the final.

Andre Onana tips Marcus Rashford to win the FA Cup for Manchester United

Speaking to ESPN during an interview in advance of the FA Cup final, Onana has picked out one of his teammates who he thinks can be the deciding factor against City, that being Marcus Rashford.

“Rashford, how many goals did he score last season?”, to which the interviewer told him 30.

“How many he scored this season?”, he then asked.

“We are talking about the same player, no? He’s a bad player? So last season he was good, this season he’s bad, no. It’s just moments, you can have a bad season, you can have a bad start, but the most important thing is how you end.”

After passionately defending Rashford, Onana then predicted the cup final.

“Rashy for me is one of the best players in the world but he’s facing difficulty like us, but not only him and me, but the whole club. He will come back, I know my killer will score some goals, some important goals for us.

“Hopefully, Saturday he’ll score two and we are… and we win the FA Cup.”

Rashford is the ultimate big-game player and he could be impactful here

If there’s one player in the United squad who can be defined as a big game player, it’s undeniably Rashford.

United’s forgotten and out-of-favour forward who can’t get back into the starting line-up due to Alejandro Garnacho could be the eventual game-winner in the final.

Rashford has 31 goals and nine assists against the Premier League big six in his career and also scored in last season’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle which proves he’s a player for the big occasion.

With Ten Hag unlikely to start him given the current situation, Rashford could be a lethal option from the bench if he is up for the occasion and could fulfil Onana’s prophecy.
