Off-the-field issues never seem too far from the headlines when it comes to Everton – and it’s been a turbulent end to the season in that regard.

Administration has been reported as a genuine threat in recent weeks, with 777 Partners’ takeover descending into chaos.

Inews report that there’s “virtually no chance” of a deal being completed with the Miami-based firm.

Farhad Moshiri, however, has even revealed that he’s turned down offers from alternative parties due to being tied into an agreement with this controversial US-based group.

Ownership issues have taken centre stage after a season clouded by points deductions and financial irregularities, something the club is adamant won’t happen again.

Sam Cunningham, also a correspondent for the i, has shared the latest on whether the club will once again fall foul of spending limits.

Taking to X, Cunningham revealed the club could have to sell players by June 30, although those at Goodison Park remain confident of no further breach.

He said: “Yes it says in the story Everton could have to sell by June 30 as well. The club believe they will not breach spending limits again.”

Everton are just the start of a wider Premier League issue

FFP and PSR have become buzzwords this season, and it feels like Everton might have been the beginning of what is a broader issue.

Nottingham Forest were the second club to be caught breaching PSR limits, and it wouldn’t be a shock to see others follow suit.

Hopefully, the word coming from the club rings true and that finances are now back under control. Evertonians cannot go through another season of uncertainty surrounding their points total.

The focus now will be on which players could depart Goodison Park during the summer months. It’s believed Amadou Onana is viewed as the favourable player to leave ahead of Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

With several players already linked with an exit, it promises to be an intriguing couple of months.
