Report: La Liga club think they can sign £20m Tottenham player quickly; Postecoglou wants rid ASAP

Tottenham could be set for some early summer action in terms of outgoings with one of Jose Mourinho’s signings set to be sold.

Ange Postecoglou is in no mood for messing this summer and admitted in the final weeks of the season he wanted to see plenty of changes at the club this summer.

Tottenham are being linked with a host of new players in terms of incomings but just as important will be the players who leave the club as well.

Spurs do have money to spend but know they can generate further funds by moving on squad players and those Postecoglou doesn’t want.

And according to reports from Spain, Atletico Madrid now think they can sign Danish midfielder, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Tottenham open to selling Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Atletico Madrid

According to a report from Spanish outlet AS, Atletico are back in for Hojbjerg after showing an interest in the past.

Diego Simeone is looking for another defensive midfield player to add to his squad and with Tottenham wanting Hojbjerg moved on quickly, his club are back in the picture.

The report claims Tottenham are open to a deal as Postecoglou sees Hojbjerg as one of the players he will happily let go this summer.

Tottenham paid around £20m to sign the Danish star when Jose Mourinho was in charge and in the main, he’s proven to be a successful signing.

However, Postecoglou wants more from his midfielders and Hojbjerg will be allowed to leave.

Hojbjerg needs to leave Spurs

There’s simply no point in Hojbjerg staying around this summer.

It is clear as day that Postecoglou doesn’t see a long-term future for the former Southampton man and with that, it’s time to move on.

For Tottenham, it will be about getting a good fee for a player they’re happy to part ways with.

Like other deals this summer, Postecoglou will be keen to see this one done before pre-season is back underway in July time.
