Latest iPhone 16 leak suggests Apple users are set to get a major camera upgrade

If rumors are to be believed, then the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max could be getting a significant upgrade to its camera capabilities.

Come September, Apple customers will be more clued in to major iPhone upgrades including full artificial intelligence integration. Though exact details are still being kept very hush, insiders have leaked exciting details like the upcoming model’s lack of buttons.

Things are changing for the iPhone 16 camera

While there have been slight changes over the years, Apple customers have a running joke about how iPhones have remained fairly static over the last few years. Thankfully, that looks to be changing.

In a leak verified by Mac Rumors from OvO Baby Sauce OvO on Weibo, it was revealed that the iPhone 16 Pro Max would be getting upgraded sensors. While the iPhone 15 Pro Max used the IMX803 sensor, the upcoming models will be replacing it with the Sony IMX903 sensor, which is said to bring great photographic improvements.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max will get another upgrade in the form of the ultra-wide camera, which is being uplifted from 12MP to an impressive 48MP.

If you won’t be splashing out on the Pro Max models, then you’ll be pleased to know that the Pro device is also getting a 48MP ultra-wide camera.

More to look forward to

Though the iPhone 16 models are still a few months away from the big reveal, there are some more immediate Apple releases coming in June. One such feature is iOS18, which is said to be unveiled this month at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference.

Sadly, not all iPhone users will be able to download the update, with said models including the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone SE 1st Gen.
