Former Disney worker reveals why costume characters are always so sassy

A former Disney World employee has pulled back the curtain on character actors to reveal who is behind their “sassy” demeanors.

Though the rides and exhibits are undoubtedly exciting at Disney World, one of the biggest attractions is the actors who work tirelessly to bring iconic characters to life. Though the exact number fluctuates depending on the time of year and events going on, around 25 character actors are prancing around the park at any given point.

The Disney character actors are an iconic staple

For years, fans of Disney World have heard of the grueling audition process to play legendary film and TV characters like the Evil Queen, Minnie Mouse, and Buzz Lightyear. Though Disney often keeps the locks tightly shut on their industry secrets, a former employee has cracked it open with a crowbar, earning 2.9 million views and over 500k likes on TikTok.

Earlier this week, Adrianna (@alimbriano) stitched a viral video that showed Mrs Incredible/Elastigirl spinning around on a moving vehicle. Admittedly, it was very fluid and bursting with personality.

“So I’ve seen a couple of viral videos of Mrs Incredible and Clarabelle Cow,” she said, explaining that a lot of captions say they are “serving c**t.”

For those of you not in the know, certain communities often employ the highly controversial swear word to describe something extravagant, bold, unapologetic, and demonstrating “yassification.”

“9 times out of 10, the person inside of that costume is a very tall gay man,” Adrianna said. “In entertainment, there are usually teeny tiny women, and they play the smaller characters like the furry characters.”

Adrianna said that, more often than not, tall Disney character actors are gay men because most women simply don’t reach that height. Such characters allegedly include Jessie from Toy Story, Mrs Incredible, and Clarabelle Cow. She further theorized that “this is why” they are able to capture the essence of the characters so well.

Though Adrianna admitted that not every single tall character is played by a gay man, she said that was her experience at Disney World. Interestingly, other employees backed her story.

“Mrs incredible and Jesse were almost always women when I worked there. Clarabelle cow though? Yes. My most fierce male friends,” one person replied, to which the original poster said, “During my DCP someone in my group was friends with Mrs Incredible and he was a man! You’re probs right about Jesse tho – she’s a little smaller!”

With her own experience of Disney character actors, another person quipped: “Can confirm. My classmate was Prince Naveen and on my program, our short friend was the chipmunk or something, but he was straight.”

“I KNEW ITTTTTT. I was looking at the waist and I’m like errr I watch too much Drag Race to not notice this,” someone else said.
