The ongoing debate of iPhone vs. Android seems to be the most intense argument in the phone world. If you’re thinking about converting to the Apple lifestyle, there are some things you might want to be aware of.

To help with your transition, an ex-Apple employee has shared 5 things you ‘need to know’ before getting an iPhone, including the differences between iOS and Android and how you may be ‘sucked’ in to the Apple ‘lifestyle’.

A former Apple employee named Tyler Morgan (@hitomidocameraroll) shared a viral TikTok video summarizing some of the key things you need to know before getting an iPhone.

Firstly, if you’re a US customer, there will be no SIM tray.

Apple explains online that in the United States, there is no SIM tray with iPhones. In other countries or regions, there’s a SIM tray on the left-hand side that holds a “fourth form factor” (4FF) nano-SIM card.

Tyler Morgan continues to explain that if you’re at risk of breaking or cracking your device screen, you should consider purchasing Apple Care because iPhones are supposedly more delicate than Androids.

AppleCare+ is an insurance policy covering you during the policy period for repairs or replacement of your covered Apple device in the event of accidental damage or battery depletion.

The former Apple employee also reveals that customization is not the same on an iPhone as it is in an Android. While there are options to customize some areas of your iPhone layout, Tyler Morgan explains that it takes longer to customize on the Apple product.

You’ll either love or hate your iPhone

The technology wizz TikTok creator also states that you will either really like the iPhone lifestyle and probably become fully immersed in the ‘ecosystem’ (buy a Macbook, iPad, AirPods, etc). Or, you’re simply going to hate it.

If you do not like the iPhone lifestyle, Tyler Morgan suggests that you will probably immediately purchase an Android again.

Next up, Tyler Morgan doesn’t recommend buying an iPhone if you have a Windows computer.

This is because you will either realize that you want an Apple MacBook instead, or you will swap out the iPhone back to an Android device, as people tend to stick to the same brand.

If you are set on purchasing an iPhone, Tyler warns that you might well be groomed into the ‘Apple ecosystem’ (the term used to describe Apple’s digital ecosystem of products and services).

In the caption of the viral video, Tyler suggests that a phone combining features from all different devices would be a great idea: “Samsung+Google+Apple phone would be game over.”

Guess, we’ll have to wait to see if that ever happens?
