Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, wife cast vote in Mirzapur

Mandaur (Haryana) [India], May 25 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini along with his wife Suman Saini, on Saturday cast their vote at a polling booth in his native village Mirzapur in Haryana.

Addressing the media after casting his vote, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attributing India's recent strides in development to his governance.

"I appeal to the people of Haryana to strengthen the democracy and they should come out and vote in large numbers. Under the leadership of PM Modi, India has entered a new era of development. Today in the whole world, India has got recognition, it has reached new heights," Saini said.

Reflecting on the transformative changes witnessed in the past decade, he said, "In the last ten years, under PM Modi's leadership, the state has witnessed, "Sabka saath Sabka Vikas". Be it medical colleges, and universities, whether connecting districts to greenfield airports, for the betterment of farmers, or granting Ayushman Bharat cards, or gas connections, every marginalized section has been given fair treatment under PM Modi".

Exuding confidence in the BJP's victory in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Saini said, "Haryana will give all ten Lok Sabha seats one Assembly seat of Karnal to BJP and will strengthen PM Modi." Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is contesting the Karnal byelection.

Earlier, former CM Manohar Lal Khattar cast his vote in Karnal and appealed to people to exercise their franchise in large numbers, "I have cast my vote. I appeal to the people to participate in this festival of democracy and also appeal to vote for the BJP party. The Congress candidate is not a challenge for me..."

Former Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar is contesting from the Karnal Lok Sabha constituency against Divyanshu Budhiraja from the Congress, Virender Maratha from the Sharad Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party, and Devendra Kadyan from the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP).

The voting for ten Lok Sabha seats and the Karnal assembly constituency of Haryana is underway.

Ten Lok Sabha constituencies in Haryana include Ambala, Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Sirsa, and Sonipat.

2,00,76,786 registered voters of Haryana will decide the fate of 223 candidates in the state.

A total of 20,031 polling stations have been set up in the state. These include 19,812 permanent and 219 auxiliary polling stations. 5,470 polling stations have been set up in urban areas and 14,342 polling stations have been set up in rural areas. (ANI)
